Job Summary:

As the Quality Manager, you will oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the consumer safety and quality program at our site. You will be responsible for leading the Quality agenda for Unilever, ensuring harmonized implementation and integration of Quality processes and standards across the Unilever Ice Cream network. You will participate in the site leadership team and provide technical information/feedback related to product inquiries or complaints. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the quality team, building quality talent, and driving continuous improvement through WCM programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver Quality systems for the site
  • Act as the subject matter expert on decisions related to quality programs and processes
  • Manage microbiological concerns and ensure all products meet or surpass defined quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement through WCM programming and collaborate with production departments on awareness and training
  • Ensure good manufacturing practices are in place at all times and champion Quality initiatives
  • Manage food safety programs and participate in the development of Unilever Quality strategy
  • Build Quality talent and participate in developing and implementing Quality learning frameworks and Job skill profiles
  • Support regional and export markets to ensure quality standards and regulatory requirements are met
  • Develop and deploy new approaches, processes, and tools to develop future capability for Quality
  • Participate in managing Quality Incident Management process and toolkit
  • Influence Quality culture through visibility and coaching of cross-functional leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or another applicable field
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/lead experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities through experience in production, quality, or materials management
  • Experience in WCM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement program
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others in a matrixed environment
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage project teams from inception to completion
  • Working knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and ability to drive improvements using the Loss Tree
  • Familiarity with HACCP and other QA regulations preferred
